Q: In the past 12 months what area of law was your main concentration? If family law, please explain what area and what was involved?
A: In the past 12 months I have been involved in contested divorce cases involving millions of dollars. I brought a Rico case regarding a conspiracy case, and resolved personal injury and medical malpractice cases, as well as Felony cases. I was involved in child custody and abuse cases.
Q: What is the best advice you can offer to any of your clients, especially those who are emotionally vested? What are the most important things to do when thinking of getting divorced?
A: The most important thing to do when getting a divorce is to leave the emotions out side the court room. In Illinois, property is distributed regardless of fault per statute. So emotions only distort the issues in a divorce. It is a partnership dispute where both parties are to be treated fairly according to the equity and circumstances of their assets, not their behavior. Gather financial documents before you start and secure in a safe place, they always disappear before a case is filed.
Q: Please briefly describe your approach so clients may better understand how you operate. (How you have been successful in your field having held a variety of distinguished positions throughout your career).
A: My client is my partner, a collaboration between a client and the attorney makes for the most successful outcome. I was an Assistant Attorney General for 4 years while their aI argued in the Supreme Court of United States, the Seventh Circuit court of appeals, the Illinois Supreme court and every Appellate court in Illinois. I was appointed a special prosecutor in DuPage and lake Counties. I was appointed an special investigator in Cook County Court. I was lead counsel for a $250,000 consulting company and tried cases all throughout the United Sates for 20 years. I am rated in the top ten Divorce lawyers in Illinois. Preparation of the case is the key to success. The Client must also be prepared by the attorney, it takes away their anxiety and makes them better prepared and knowledgeable about what is coming in the case and risks and settlement opportunities.
Q: Can you try to provide us with a number of cases in the past 12 months that the verdicts were won in your favor? This of course is in reference to personal injury, criminal law and litigation cases.
A: In the last 12 months I have resolved over 126 cases to trial and/or settlement. All were successful outcomes.
